If you live in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven area and are curious to know how solar and batteries can power your home and save you money, but are overwhelmed about where to start, your local Council is here to help.
Our 4 local councils have worked together through the Illawarra Shoalhaven Joint Organisation (ISJO) to negotiate a bulk buy arrangement for rooftop solar and home batteries. The program is being delivered by Shinehub and is available to households across the Wollongong, Kiama, Shellharbour and Shoalhaven local government areas with the negotiated discount passed on to residents. The Program also provides direct access to available government rebates for solar, batteries and virtual power plant participation and finance options.
More than 300 residents took up the round 1 offer in late 2025. Round 2 installations kick off in May 2026.
